The Nostalgic generation or the Nostalgics are the seventh sub-generation of creators and the fourth Innovator sub-generation of creators. They emerged amidst a Reconstruction era of a post-PewDiePie vs T-Series internet high. Despite the Nostalgics being one of the most disparate generations, most of them arose as part of a reaction against the Dramatic generation. In the case of gaming content, this manifested as a resurgence of Minecraft in contrast to the “uncoolness” of Minecraft and dominance of Fortnite in the Drama Age. As such, there was a wave of new Minecraft creators, mostly oriented around livestreamed servers like SMP Live and SMP Earth. In the case of commentary, this reaction manifested as a wave of more accountability-oriented commentary creators who punched up rather than punched down. In the case of politics, this reaction manifested as a wave of creators collectively known as “BreadTube” who criticized the anti-SJWs and alt-right of the Drama Age. The Nostalgic generation also provided a wave of new beauty creators, who experienced somewhat of a peak in the Nostalgic High before COVID-19 and an overdose of drama sent them into decline. In the current age, most Nostalgics have stagnated, but maintain a degree of relevancy due to aid provided by the COVID-19ers.
